LONDON (Sputnik) – Labour politician Douglas Alexander, who has been UK's Shadow Foreign Secretary, has lost his seat in the British Parliament to Scottish National Party (SNP) representative Mhairi Black.
An exit poll in the Paisley and Renfrewshire South constituency showed that 20-year-old Black secured over 5,600 more votes than Douglas Alexander.
According to the exit poll announced immediately after the Thursday voting in the UK general election stopped, SNP is coming third with 58 out of 59 possible seats.
The Labour secured 239 seats, which is 77 less than the Conservatives.
The 2015 general election is considered the most unpredictable vote that the United Kingdom has ever seen. The election campaign has been so tight that a frontrunner has not emerged until the end.
